Drywall and insulation never show up on an Austin permit, so the builder still has to hire you. Fortific finds every new home, addition and interior remodel filed this week and sends you the builder's name and number before rough-in passes.

Interior remodel and roof extension to main house with partial demolition.
By the time a superintendent mentions a new build, the board is already ordered and another crew has the hang-and-finish. You're bidding the next phase, or nothing.
Search the city portal for "drywall" and you get nothing. Drywall rides on the building permit, so every list sorted by trade misses the jobs that need you.
The volume builders have a board crew they've used for years. Growth comes from the mid-size and custom builders you haven't met yet, and they're on the permits.
Every lead is a building permit filed this week. Insulation and drywall start after rough-in inspections, usually 8 to 14 weeks out. That's your bid window.
We skip like-for-like window swaps and re-roofs. Remodels only count when the description says kitchen, bath, interior or reconfigure, where walls actually get opened.
Each lead names the general contractor who pulled the permit, with their phone when the city lists it. One call per job, to the person who hires you.

Austin publishes every permit it issues. We pull the full feed each morning, so nothing slips past.
Each permit is decoded into plain English and checked against every sub-permit on the job, so we know which contractors are named and which trades it still needs.
Only new builds, additions and interior remodels in your ZIP codes, each with the builder's phone, weeks before insulation.

Every new home, addition and new commercial building needs board, and none of it is on the permit. For remodels we only count jobs whose description mentions interior work, a kitchen, bath, reconfiguration or conversion, and skip like-for-like replacements.
Sometimes, especially with the national builders. But plenty of Austin permits are pulled by smaller and custom builders who price board job by job, and every lead arrives weeks before insulation, while the job is still being priced.
Yes. The trade is "Drywall & insulation" because they go in back to back and neither is permitted separately. Pick it once and you get both.
Every lead comes straight from a permit the city issued, checked against every sub-permit on the same job, so we know who's already named. The "why" line tells you exactly which rule made it a lead. The job value and contractor phone are whatever the city recorded; when the city left them blank, so do we.
No phone numbers. Most leads are the contractor running the job, with their phone when the city lists it, which is most of the time. For work that follows a job, like a fence after a new pool, you get the owner of record and their mailing address from the Travis Central Appraisal District's public tax roll, ready for a mailer, plus whether they live there and when they bought. Owners who've had the appraisal district keep their records confidential are never included.
Most lists sort permits by the trade on the permit, so a roofer gets a list of roofs other roofers already sold. We sort by the trades the job still needs. We check every sub-permit filed for the job so we never send you one where your trade is already named, and every lead says in one line why it's yours.
Yes. Building permits and the appraisal roll are public records, and calling a contractor about work on their job is ordinary business. Owner records are for mail outreach only, which you agree to in our terms, and we remove any owner who asks. You're responsible for following do-not-call and anti-solicitation rules where they apply.
